My Big, Audacious Goal For 2017

Starting this blog at the beginning of this year was a huge goal of mine.

In the beginning, I had no idea how I was going to make it happen.

I had every excuse to fail:

  • I’m a single mom of an active teenager who still needs mommy to drive him around to sporting events after school and most weekends.
  • I have a demanding job that requires me to work at least 10 hours a day, 5 days a week (and sometimes six days).
  • My professional license requires me to spend lots of time in addition to work hours to complete a training program.
  • I work part-time to help pay my massive student loan debt.
  • I even had a needy boyfriend in the mix (got rid of him though).

Although I had what could have been paralyzing obstacles for some, I was determined to prove that I could make it a whole year blogging consistently and earn money doing it.

Ultimately, I did succeed and I LOVE blogging so I am glad I persevered.

I can’t wait to see all of the things that I am able to accomplish in the new year. I even attended my first money conference, FinCon in Dallas, Texas.

Shortly after the conference, I decided to invest in a blogging course to learn how to reach more people with my message of earning extra income, getting out of debt and creating a life worth LIVING.

I found an awesome course package called PRO BLOGGER BUNDLE by Create and Go and I highly recommend it if you want to start a money making blog this year.

My success this year is a result of to pure stubbornness, determination and good old fashion GRIT.

I also had some awesome resources that carried me through my first year of being a crazy busy, single mom blogger like my beloved Yoga For Stress Relief DVD, and my Secret Gratitude Journal.

Setting Goals For The New Year

By now you have probably noticed I haven’t used the “R-word” (Resolutions).

We all know the statistics…about 100% of new year resolutions are kicked to the curb by Valentine’s Day.

Because of that fact, I have always been more inclined to set a few “goals (or intentions)” when the new year begins.

More and more I have been reading about others who advocate setting goals, not resolutions.

Whatever you want to call it, just make sure you think about how you want to improve in the upcoming year and make a plan to DO IT.

WARNING: I’m about to throw you a curveball.

What if I told you that the best way to accomplish your top three goals this year was NOT to set any goals at all?

Stay with me.

How To Accomplish Your Top Three Goals This Year

Whenever I write something for you, I like to do my homework first.

As I was researching “the best ways to accomplish goals” I ran across this idea that goals are ok but SYSTEMS are better. Adam Alter explains it best in his YouTube video.

In the spirit of creating systems, I thought long and hard about the best ways to help you improve your finances in 2018.

I considered all of the resources, tips and techniques that I used in the past to accomplish hard to reach (for me) goals such as writing my first book or blogging consistently for a year straight.

First, I thought about how to simplify everything I know into a few easy to implement steps and then, I thought about how to make those steps even EASIER to follow.

I came up with the tips that you will see below and I also developed the FINANCIAL FREEDOM JOURNAL to guide you through the process.

My Fool-Proof SYSTEM For Reaching Financial Goals

What 1-3 areas do you want to improve the most this year?

Some common financial goals include:

  • Learn how to budget
  • Earn more money
  • Spend less
  • Save more money (i.e. a $1,000 emergency fund)
  • Get out of debt

Use these tips to reach your financial goals:

#1. Give Yourself A Time Limit To Accomplish Your Three Goals (Such As 6 Months)

#2. Write A SMART Goal For Each Thing That You Want To Accomplish

#3. Keep A Simple, Daily Journal To Record Your Actions And Intentions

#4. Conduct A Monthly Review Of Your Progress

Download the FINANCIAL FREEDOM JOURNAL to easily implement each of the tips over the next 180 days.
