Learn how to make money, get out of debt and achieve financial freedom with these tips. #personalfinancejunkieWelcome to Personal Finance Junkie!

I am so happy you stopped by. If this is your first time here, then you have started in the right place.

I’m Dr. Vi, the writer behind Personal Finance Junkie. You can learn more about me HERE.

I started this blog in response to my overwhelming six-figure student loan debt.

After YEARS of paying on my student loan debt I noticed the balance had not decreased a single cent! In fact, the amount I owed seemed to be increasing.

How was this possible I wondered? Then, I decided if I wanted to be debt-free and reach financial freedom like I was claiming then I MUST do something different!

As a result, I decided to start Personal Finance Junkie, where I document my student loan journey as well as different work-at-home methods I am using to earn extra money to pay off the loans FASTER.

Do you want to get out debt? Do you want to learn how to earn extra income from home? Then stay tuned.

THIS IS WHERE YOU START!

1. START WITH A BUDGET

The road to debt freedom and financial freedom starts with gaining CONTROL over your money. The best way I know how to do that is to create a budget (also known as a spending plan).

If you do not live on a written budget already I suggest you start here:

2. MAKE MORE MONEY

Once you have gained control over your money by living on a budget, next you need to master the art of earning more money.

Some of the things I do to earn more on the side is work part-time and seasonal jobs, blog, write books and sell t-shirts. I will share everything that works for me on the blog.

3. GET OUT OF DEBT

I tell people all of the time, debt is the enemy of wealth. If you want to build wealth, or even if your goal is to be “comfortable” then you MUST get out of debt!

I have a long road to debt freedom and it is a FIGHT for sure but if I can tackle six-figure student loan debt then I am sure that you can battle through your debt as well.

4. REACH FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Financial freedom means different things to different people. To me, financial freedom means being able to make important life decisions without worrying about money.

For instance, this Gallup report suggests that most people in the world hate their jobs (especially their boss).  If people hate their crummy jobs so much then why do they continue to show up day after day?

The answer is simple, a lack of financial freedom FORCES us all to do things that we’d rather not do.

My suggestion is to not waste time and energy complaining about your dull job and idiot boss. Instead, learn how to make more money, get out of debt and aim for FINANCIAL FREEDOM.

5. CONTINUE TO LEARN

It is important to continue to learn throughout your personal finance journey and beyond. I put together lists of the best personal finance books that have helped me on my journey. Happy reading!
