Another Personal Finance Blog

I’ve wanted to write a personal finance blog for a really long time. Personal finance is my passion; some might even say it is my obsession. I think I actually created two blogs at different points in my life and then never followed through on them. It was my limiting beliefs that caused me to fail. I didn’t trust myself to produce the quality of work that I would be satisfied with to present to all-of-the world (I’m dramatic like that).

I got hooked on personal finance when I was 24 years old and I went to buy my first car and I was rejected and humiliated at the dealership because of my bad credit.

I still got it!

I still got it!

After that incident, I remember walking into a bookstore and purchasing every book I could find on credit repair (not to make myself sound old because I’M NOT but I don’t think Blogs were invented back then). The book that was most helpful to me, From Credit Repair To Credit Millionaire, was written by Donna L. Fox. That one book really helped me to resurrect my credit score from the depths of hell. I still have that book just to remind myself how far I’ve come.

One of my goals in life is to write a book that will change a life like Donna L. Fox’s book did for me (her book is super old now, maybe I’ll write a new and improved credit repair book :-/).

Anyway, this is my first post on my very own personal finance blog and I’m glad that you somehow found me. I spent two months trying to figure out exactly what I want to accomplish with this blog and I decided that I just want to HELP. I want to help other people and I also want to help myself.

I’ve been on my own personal finance journey for 11 years now and I have accomplished a lot but I still have a long way to go to reach my ultimate goal of financial independence.

One obstacle that I face right now is my soul-crushing student loan debt. I need help with that. I don’t need monetary help (I wouldn’t complain if I won the lottery though) but I do need the kind of help that comes from community. Motivation. Encouragement. Other people’s success stories. Synergy.

In my personal life, I do not encounter enough people who hate debt as much as I do. It’s like everybody thinks debt is normal and acceptable. It’s not. Debt is the devil and it is also the enemy of wealth!

So, I think my goals for this personal finance blog can be easily summed up as (1) teach others everything I know about money in a non-boring way and (2) build a community of personal finance junkies who are supportive, encouraging, and doing big things with money!

Yep. That’s it. Welcome to my personal finance blog.
